It's strong writing that is emotionally pure; sometimes uncomfortable because of its purity. It's beautiful. It's haunting.

Deborah PhippsAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155197540326010032.post-21654597540871396782014-08-03T08:49:30.192+01:002014-08-03T08:49:30.192+01:00Moving and beautifully written. She's made preparations, has been planning it for some time. But is it the cloying inertia of family tradition, the innate violence, pride, bigotry, pomposity of sectarian conflict, or is it a personal right of passage - something she HAS to do?
Other than the fleeting moment when 'Padraig noticed' that she is wearing Eoghan's old wellingtons, the reader is 100% in Kathleen's point of view, her inner world, and we're rooting for her to get the hell out of it!
Keep going!

Brooke Fieldhouse Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155197540326010032.post-71812620454273232862014-08-01T01:38:50.838+01:002014-08-01T01:38:50.838+01:00Vivid and enthralling.
