I loved ...I liked a lot of things about this story. I loved the winter setting. I have a weakness for stories set in Arctic conditions, blizzards, heavy snowfalls. Jack London, some of Hawthorne, many others. The details of people coping with a harsh winter felt authentic to me, as if the author has either lived this life or heard about it from reliable storytellers, or observed it. Also thought it was cool how the story seems written in 3rd person until the very end when the author uses 1st person.
